    In response to Sooty2k's 18-30 thread, I propose a thread for all of us who remember how it was before all these young whipper-snappers came along.

    Thread limited to;

    1. How things were better in the past.
    2. How youngsters today don't know anything.
    3. Or how we would change things if we could be bothered/not so cynical.

    Fire away them......
    Nothing to see here, move along..

    petrol was a lot cheaper in the past. before the first gulf war it cost about £1.80 for a gallon. during the war (when i learnt to drive) it went up to about £2.50 a gallon, then came back to £2.00. these days i have no idea how much it is because its sold in these new fangled metric units.
    kids these days, they dont even know what a gallon is.
    bring back the gallon, thats what i say.

    Onemanparty your childrens tv is a bit on the modern side. It was better when I was younger. Watch with Mother Bill & Ben, The Wooden Tops, Camberwick Green & Trumpton to name a few.

    See, I'm not old old but I remember all of those.

    I also remember my Beetle failing its MOT because the moron in the test centre disconnected the washer pump to check the spare tyre was sound. When he went back to check the washers worked, they didn't

    I remember only having 3 channels on TV too.
