I had previously a 58plate 3.0 LeMans Quaattro Avant which owing to a order error had to be replaced. As the 2009 model did not come with LeMans option at time the dealer had to spec up a Sline to same.

I have however discovered an issue with a change in the auto gearbox programming which causes a delay when acceletaring full throttle through the gears. In sports mode, the 58 Plate the acceleration was unninterupted through the range with changes being so quick you lost no drive however in the 2009 model there is a 1/2 delay when under full load. This cases various issues. Additioinally the car seems reluctant to drop into the best gear for acceleration not as in the previous car. If sitting at 50 in 4th the car will not drop to 3rd when wanting to pass quickly, instead it holds 4th which has the effect of making what may have been a safe gap quite tight.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue

When mine changes I feel every change and there is a definate drop in drive not total but noticibly less power as it shifts gear until up a gear. Is yours a 2009 spec A6 with LED running lights etc as my 58 plate Very last of the old style before LEDs 235BHP 225 omission had no delay. Went out with dealer in 2.7 quattro it had delay in gear shift as well. He kept ranting about how fast mine was and thought the slight delay inbetween changes was 'fine' He suggested I get and RS6 (would if doing 10Kpa as oppopssed to 20-25K). Dealer was great and did the 18K inspecting FOC this morning suggested I get the GB remapped however he was unable to do it Audi issues :-)

Yes, aug 2009, with led lamps.

From a standing start through to 6th gear is smooth all the way.

Only difference I have noticed between this and our 'old' (2008) A4 3.0tdi also tiptronic, is that the 2008 didnt rev as highly between changes and happily went into 6th at 45mph, wheras the A6 will not take 6th at any speed below 52mph.
