    hi very annoying problem
    driving on weekend battery light came on my t5 moments later other lights started to light up like christmas tree ,stopped van battery totally dead,used jump leads next day started drove 5 miles got home just,put another battery on the van and still the battery light is on van starts fine and everything works fine
    apart from the battery light is no on constant and my remote key central locking has stopped working even the little led dont light up any more on the drivers door,
    not sure if this is related??can you help if so please do as all help asap would be appreciated as about to take alternator off and it is a big job when i have read on here others with the problem find a cheaper easier fix but no one says what it is thanks in advance for any help offered

    Wot engine? 1.9 or 2.5? 2.5 maybe a worn Drive coupling and/or clutch?

    Check you have 14.4v across the battery terminals with the engine running.

    I know with the 2.5`s there is a Heavy Duty fuse for Alternator but its in the `E` Box,under Battery.Looks a pain to strip-down but not bad really.

    yes ive got several t5 55 plate trendlines and with some being parked up a while i find this problem constantly with mine 2 had new alternators before being parked up. 6 months later start on the button but battery light is on the dash and as above 30 miles later all the lights are on till it dies or recharge battery,very annoying as check the fuses under battery tray no problem ,if anyone knows differnt as just started 3 today all with the same problem

    as to previous post cental locking still works fine check your keyfob battery if that dont work get in touch and ill let you know how to quick fix your central locking any help much appreciated as dont fancy buying anotheralternator for each as 2 have under 50 miles on them
