    Cheers Phil,

I live in Ireland and there is a new motorway network being rolled out at present. New roads opening every month. Should all be complete next year. I would love to have a built in sat nav though.

I'd really like to have an aux output on it.

I was looking at the above RCD 310 stereo as a replacement for my own RCD 300. However it comes with this warning

"Please note that on older models, there may be a battery drian issue as older cars have the old CANBUS version. If you are planning on installing this unit in a pre 2008 vehicle, please check first for compatibility"

What are and how do i check my CANBUS settings? Diagnostics at a VW dealer? Can you upgrade the canbus?

And finally, has anyone ever set up the aux out of an rcd310? Is it difficult?
