The VW number for the sensor is 021 906 265 AB and oddly is now obsolete from VW. The equivalent Bosch number is 0 258 003 604 and the Denso number is DOX-0118 so it should be OK. I will have a think.

I will only trust genuine VW AMM's (MAF) bought from a VW dealer, not even Bosch.

After few days of testing, problem is still there. I got the same genuine AMM for couple of days and it is the same. What else should I check? Thermostat? Intake temperature sensor? Crasher, any ideas?
Just to remind I changed, spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition coil, dizzy, rotor arm, lambda sensor, coolant temperature sender, air filter, fuel filter, AMM...No faults on VCDS/VAGCOM.
P.S. I noticed that there is the same problem on some MK4 1.6 AKL engines wich is the same engine like AFT in MK3...

The AKL has a slightly different engine management system and can be a pain. If the car is showing proper lambda correction under +/- 10% and not bringing up an error you are a bit stuck. The only next step is to accurately monitor the air/fuel ratio with a wide band lambda unit such as the one I am just putting in an R32 turbo so I can independently monitor the AFR.

That is very good, but I cant find it in my country. Btw here is the video of VCDS measuring blocks on my car. I noticed today that when I step on the gas harder the drops of water go out of exhaust, is that some sign or?

What do you think about the measurements, look good? Sorry for video quality...

From what I can see the figures look correct but it was hard to focus on the video. There are alternative AFR gauges to the AEM unit, that is just one idea. Google "AFR gauge"
