Im looking for a new set but cant deiced, do i go for 17's or 18's? so can i have your Honest Opinions please.

The ride at the moment is very VERY firm.

Also can someone confirm if these are the right fitting for the car, BOLT PATTERN 5x112 -- OFF-SET 35 - 40

    Thanks

IMHO 17's with 235/45x17's are fine for general road use, having driven an A4 with 18's running I believe 245/40x18 Michelin tyres for a fortnight it was an absolute nightmare, unsettled and harsh on all but the very best Autobahns and horrendous for tramlining and following the camber on A and B class roads, worse it was all but undriveable on unclassified back roads in the Alps

Thanks for your opinion its appreciated, I'm tempted to fit 18's for looks but dont want to ruin the ride, looks like 17's are the answer or do i stay with 16's?
