    Hi,

Hope someone can help - pulling my hair out trying to install a Sony CDX-GT530UI in my Golf MKV. I have an ISO to VW convertor cable (for audi/power etc.) and aerial convertor and while the unit powers on correctly, it doesn't power off when I remove the key from the ignition

I understand that this is related to switchable power (I thought the ISO/VW adaptor would take care of this) but not sure of the easiest way to overcome this - any advice would be greatly appreciated!

normally you will find that the unit will switch off with the ignition but will not keep its memory ( EQ settings and radio tuning hotkeys for example).

Try swapping the red and yellow wires around on the ISO loom. It should have bullet connectors which allow you to do this. It sounds as though you may have both red and yellow going into one single wire, they should be separate.
