i have just fiitted a new abs pump to a 2003 audi a6 2.5 tdi auto tiptronic with esp, i need to code the module on the abs pump with vcds (genuine and registered) but i can't seem to login with the codes that i have 09497.
i have managed it once but i coded the abs with codes for an a4 instead of the a6. i also need to set the steering angle, again have tried but with no joy. i have a scan listed if this helps.

    This should get you going:
    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/...28Bosch_5.7%29

You will need to create a login based on the PR data listed, and the label in your trunk or owners manual.
    Example: http://www.ross-tech.net/vag-com/mis...s/PR-Codes.png

Then in the same session, without exiting ABS module or cycling the key off:
    Code the module
    Set G85 Basic settings

If this still doesn't make sense, post a pic of the vehicle ID tag and we will find the login and coding.

As a8 tech responded (and I figured as well):
    Login 07399
    Coding 06499

Then do the G85 Basic settings listed at the bottom of page:
    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/...28Bosch_5.7%29

    hello, a8 tech and dana.

    i have a similar problem with a dash in a 2000 golf.

I have a solus pro and the helpfull team here in australia say that a login code is strictly a dealership thing.

so i asked spencer who i usually deal with in parts at my local and he says i cant get it over the counter unlike a stereo code.

if its not too much a pain, could you explain how you did this? i read the ross tech pages you listed and cant figure it out?

you mentioned "You will need to create a login based on the PR data listed, and the label in your trunk or owners manual."

    cheers bj

    Hi,

I'm sure you have this resolved already but the Mk4 Golf (and similar) use Mk20 and Mk60 ABS systems which do not involve a Login like the Bosch family modules. Instead, the ABS coding is either built from scratch as listed in the Wiki or by using the factory repair manual which may refer to ABS generation and part number in combination with the engine and transmission code(s).

    hello dana,

    thanks for your reply,
its actually the dash i need a login code for. When i plug my snapon scan tool into it, the solus pro, which i have already spoken to the snap on helpline about and they agree that a login code is needed.

since my last post, i had purchased a vag-com cable from www.vag-diagnostics.com.
unfortunately i still havnt recieved it as it has been lost in the mail so i'm still waiting on it. Some feed back if your interested in it or not, i actually tried the australian dealer in boroia melbourne for the ross tech cable however after calling and leaving a message twice he failed to get back to me at all so i went for what i thought was the second most reliable manufacturer.

however as a tech guy that just wants to know, i'd still like to know how to do it.
    anyone?
