I've used a hi synthetic by Millers. I drain every 6 months. Just got some Motul PD specfic... it was on offer from Opie oils. This is fully Syn so will stay in 12 months.

Ensure PD 506.01 or 505.01 507 may also be ok; I stand to be corrected!!??

I like to use 5w40 in the TDi

The VW spec is 505.01 for fixed intervals and 506.01 for LongLife (Curse that!). The oil is 5W40 for fixed and 5W30 for LL, but this isn't as important as the spec since that defines the needed additives.

If you're on a fixed interval, I'd recommend you stay away from 506.01 since it's alot more expensive than 505.01 and doesn't offer much benefits on a fixed oil change interval.

Depends on if the car is on fixed service schedule or variable service schedule?

If you are on fixed service you will need an oil that meets the VW505.01 spec such as these http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-751-vw-50501-oil.aspx

If you are on longlife service then we would recommend a VW507.00 spec such as these http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-754-vw-50700-oil.aspx

    Cheers

    Guy
