Hi, I have a 98 1.8T A6 I used Partco/Unipart who do semi Synthetic for £15 ans Synthetic for a little more and 4 NKG plugs for £26.36, oil filter £3.69.

Trade secret Unipart supply Halfords with some parts I would try elsewhere.

To be honest if I can go to Partco/Unipart its where the garages go and mechanics you see them there oily overalls - You can get most of the stuff a lot cheaper. Example I ask for brake pads in Halfords they tell me they will bw there tommorow, I say can't waite Halfords guy says we order bits we havent got from Partco/Unipart down the road, so trade secret go and have a look there if you need them now !
I find Halfords a lttle pricey we have to two Major motor factors in my town if for exmple I looked at Auto oil from Halfords at £10 were as my local garage factors supplier was selling it at £5 so thats speaks for itself.
I do get stuff from Halfords yes because they do carry Manuals, accesories etc and are open all the time but I would look up your local Garage factors supplier to get a look at prices. You go to Joe Bloggs garage and they are using the local motor factors for parts.

cheers m8,thanks for ur reply...have tried local motor factors before but found their prices similar to halfords..also checked the audi main dealer for oil which was actually the cheapest, also air n oil filters... surprising their prices were similar too it was only the spark plugs where they were very expensive £11.50 each, funnily enuff the same price quoted last year by my local motor factors as opposed to halfords £20 for 4....but will deff check some more local motor s factors again tomorrow..am assumin part synthetic oil 10/40 will be ok for my car as thats wat the audi main dealer quoted me for ? ..thanks for the informo much appreciated
