I fill my `04 2.5 BDG Avant with diesel until the pistol stops the flow so hopefully I never overfill it. I`ve noticed lately a film of diesel on the rear wing below the filler cap after a few miles after fill up.
I inspected the filler cap but all seems well. I tried poking at it to see if there was a renewable rubber seal but if there was its not coming off easily.

    My questions are:
    1. Is there a detachable rubber seal on the cap?
    2. Could the diesel be coming from somewhere else such as a breather that has come adrift.

    Many thanks in anticipation

    Dave
