I am about to get a 2007 Audi Allroad 3.0TDi. The V5 has it as being 230g/km for its CO2 but Audi's Vehicle identification data sheet in the service book shows the CO2 emmissions for the combined cycle as 219g/km, which would take it into Band K at £245 as against Band L at £425.

Like us all, I don't like paying more tax than I need to. Has anyone any knowledge of trying to get their V5 or the tax banding changed?

    Thanks, David

The VCA archive data says your car is 219g (manual gearbox, 230g auto box) so they should change it. Mind you the DVLA are a useless joke, it is nearly impossible to get to speak to someone on the phone, in desperation I pressed the fraud option and got to speak to a human that sorted out my log book error instantly, even she agreed the organisation was bad joke.

Thank you for your reply and the attached file. My car is an auto which will be why they have it at 230g but it is odd that the Audi record shows it as 219g. Once i get the car and the V5 in my name, I will contact them (poss via the fraud option) and see if by producing the book to my local office they will change this - somehow I think I will be wasting my time, but hey, it is worth a shot.

If it is an auto it is 230g and that is written in stone…
