Reccomend me a Garage in Edinburgh

I popped in there for oil for my Passat and they charged me £17 for a litre bottle compaired to Sloans (sorry Western) £14 and they topped it up for me.

Inch in Bathgate are very good but they don't have many courtesy cars and are not on many bus routes. You have to book a car weeks in advance.
They supplied and fitted my Cruise control for me for £200.

Their customer service is appalling too... took an old car in with a scraping noise, it came back out with the exact same noise. Told them their diagnostic was clearly wrong, they didn't want to know, said the noise was different. Spoke to me like an idiot.

Having had my Passat for a few years now I have done the normal and sent the car to two VW Dealers, Independent specialist and Independent general.

Since my car went into the Independent i have had to take it back to them to get the handbrake sorted as it seems to fault at least 2-3 times a week. The problem still persists. And last time they charged me an hours labour for fixing a fault they caused..

I can safely say that Western on Gorgie road may be 20% more expensive than an Independent general garage but the service, reliability and all round feeling your car is being done properly wins hands down.
Plus these days they are really compensative on standard services and MOT's. Just have to watch out for the usual £20 for a window wiper scam that all garages seem to do nowadays.

Just make sure they call you before doing any EXTRA work and do a quick check online for prices before you let them go ahead.
