I need to access the inside of the A4 Avant 2.5 TDIQ tailgate in order to replace the number plate light cluster strip, (which is all corroded up with dead lights).

I have removed the two screws in the recess but the panel is firmly attached just under the rear window and does not appear to come free. Is there some other fixture holding the panel?
Anybody have any ideas on removing this panel?
    Dave

It can be a bit aukward and you'll wonder if your gonna break it but

there are 4 screws, one in each of the tailgate pull down recesses and two behind the warning triangle,

then there are, I think 6 metal clips, I used a long screwdriver to ping them out

and finally the panel itself clips onto the rear screen surround plastics, I just twisted and hit these till they came off - theres probably a proper way to do this though.
