4.2 V8 Squeal during Kickdown for 0.5s

Hi,
I have 1 4.2 v8, when the car is warmed and i kickdown as it shifts down i get a short sharp squeal, sound like it is from the front of the car, any ideas

The boxes on A8 4.2’s are very prone to failure. Firstly I would have the fluid and filter changed and see how it sounds after that.

I have recently had a 40,000 service (2003 model) and asked audi, they took it on a test drive and did not hear it, i also asked for them to change the gearbox oil and they have informed me these are sealed for life units?
