    Hi all
I have a MK V GT TDI, and my lighter is jammed in, I think it might just be a fuse problem (hoping its a fuse problem) Does anybody know how i go about replacing the fuse, where its located etc and where do i buy a new fuse.
    Cheers in advance

    I have a similar problem.

I have a Glof mk5 2005 Sport (1.9tdi) and the cigarette lighter looks brand new, filament is still clean. the problem is that the coil wont heat up. I tried it with the engine running and the engine off and there was no difference ...

    Anyone can help pls?

    Hi,

Open the drivers door to get to the fuse box, -- Then remove the plastic panel at the end of the dash..

(you should be able to get your fingers into the bottom to "pop" it off.

I think it was Fuse 24 or Fuse 26 ??

    Cheers

    Rick

    Hi folks
I managed to get it sorted, I changed the fuse ( I have temporarily put a 30amp fuse in) but will source a 25 amp fuse first chance I get. The lighter popped straight out as soon as i started the engine.

    Cheers for your help
    Gary

Hi, I had blown fuse on the ciggie lighter ......so easy to replace, you can get all the info from your hand book p84, but if you haven't got one..remove the panel nr the drivers door, you have to open the door to get at it. (vw key fits perfectly). I got replacement fuses at Halfords, its the spade type...about a quid I think. 25 amp fuse and its located in fuse holder no. 24.
tip..use the little extraction tool on the removable cover to get the fuse in and out!
    good luck.
