My main question is, are the central locking units that are in VW's have the ability for Remote Central Locking Already there? Or is there several different types of 'Central Locking Unit' (Different Part Numbers)

    For Example:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...%3DI%26otn%3D2

Basically, if that was bought, already and fitted to a car with 'Central Locking' would i be wasting my money? As i want to make my car have 'remote central locking'.

    Hi Cammers.
My car, Nov 2001 1.6s 16v, when I bought it, had central locking in it, but not remote.
I had an insurance alarm fitted and it was connected to the central locking so I can press a button on the keyfob and lock and arm the car, aswell as open and disarm !.

So it can be done, but my question is, can the remote central locking be fitted to the exsisting 'Central Locking Unit'?? But as i would understand the reciever wouldn't be there?

So can you have remote central locking without having an Alarm?
