That procedure is only for coding the remote for the central locking, you will need to also have it coded to your immobiliser otherwise it won't start the van.

I can do that for you, if you're passing Mansfield or fancy a trip down.

    Eshrules, (or anyone),

I've recently bought a Fleabay VAG-Tacho lead and it only partially works.

What I need is to program the Transponder of my Spare key, but the option to get the PIN number is greyed-out on the screen...

Have I bought the wrong VAG-Tacho lead, and if so, where can I get a lead that will work with my Allroad 2002 TDI?

I also have a VAG-COM which appears to (mostly) work, though it's no use as far as I can see, for programming Transponders...

I'm driving with no spare key at the moment, so I'm pushing my luck!

buy an legitimate vagtacho and vagcom lead(s)

when you've done this, I'll be able to help

Just got myself a lovely A6 Allroad C5 (2004/5). I have only one key fob with it and desperately want a spare so I don't panic when I go anywhere! Can anyone help?
I have done it before on my wife's transit van by buying one off fleabay and sending my original away with it to a locksmith who programmed the glass transponder for me. I am told this is not possible with the Audis. Can anyone help? I am in West Cornwall

Hmmm I'm not sure if that's strictly true. When I was up north I had my rs3 programmed by a manchester locksmith and they did a fab job. Has the same locksmith for your wife's transit van said no? I suppose you're a bit out in the sticks in West Cornwall! I've only moved south in the last few years, so maybe that's rude of me

Ha ha, not rude at all. I like sticks me.
I have booked for someone to come out and program a new key on the drive for £100. Pricey for me, but cheap compared to daylight robbery prices of main dealers!
