is the pas noisy on lock?
    2 things it could be
1 check charge rate must be about 14v
2 remove the pas/alt belt and check the freewheel pulley to see if seized this is the reason i asked if the pas was noisy
the most common fault is the pulley

hi there, the charge rate is fine. Come to mention about some noises, i have heard the odd noise coming from the alternator. If the pulley has seized, can it be changed or does it mean a new alternator, thanks.

    the pulley can be changed
there is a special tool for doing this though
gsf and euro car parts do the pulley but there are several types so they will need the alternator number to get right
