    Hi guys n girls, cant find anything on this topic for the 2001 passat, but me fuel filler cap only opens sometimes (but very rarley)
    Ive changed the solinoid twice and it still doesnt work, ive had a look at the switch and that seems fine and ive looked at the fuses even though i no it wont be that
    Any help would be appeciated

    Fuse 14 on the relay plate, check and clean connections. Check 12v to switch and then 12v to flap release solenoid. Check solenoid has good earth. Don't be confused by bulb lighting up in switch, it's a different circuit. Good luck.

    thanks for the reply martin, just found out that it opens all the time when the door is closed but as soon as i open the door the flap doesnt open ?????
