bit of a rant this one.

I work damn hard to earn my money and get the things I like. Now I have a car I really wanted and I have the NCB etc to make it genuinley affordable.

Now you spotty oik in yer little french piece of crap, I drive at 30mph because that's the limit. I accelerate smoothly to 60mph because I'm civilised and that is the limit. No matter how much you rush up to my back bumper from every roundabout or junction or any time you have to stop etc I will not be bullied into speeding, nor will I enter into a 'race' with you. And girls are worse...

    No.1 - it's illegal.

No.2 - it's would be so easy to kick your pluckey *** it's worse than boring.

No.3 - I enjoy 'driving' my car not thrashing it to a pulp.

    No.4 - just go away......

    Is it just me?......

Your not alone. I can't stand tailgaters, but I also can't stand people who don't drive properly. There is no excuse for bad driving.

check out the poll on 'pet hates' there are so many issues i could rant about... tail gating has to be the most dangerous though, especially those kiddies...

im not oldie myself @ 22, but i realise how dangerous this practice is and what the silly person behind doesnt realise is that i have slowed down to 22 mph because you are dangerously close to my tail and should i need to brake suddenly, no way in hell are you going to outstop my golf....

and trucks, on the m.way the 40 mph speed limit applies to everyone, yes your big, yes you can block all sunlight from my rear, but honestly, do you really have to get that close to me ?

Ok deep breath......People who drive in the fast lane on the speed limit and wont pull over to let people past...........They are the first people to complain about people under taking them, if they want to do the speed limit, fine but dont hold everybody else up if someone wants to over take and get three points for doing it let em by! but just coz you are doing the speed limit dosnt mean you own the whole motorway, if you aint over taking someone get over to the left!!...... have a nice day

My favorite is to slide the car into second and engine break quite sharply down to tickover and cruise along nice and slowly whilst theres a few cars coming the other way, I feel this is my civic duty to drive with safety in mind where the person behind me cannot, then when your tailgator sees a gap and starts to turn behind you slide the car sharply back up to speed in front of them
You may think I'm being helpful yet sarcastic, this is only because I feel I need to help you to help yourself in the future

i agree with the first part, but the latter just sounds dangerous, speeding up when the fool is overtaking you is endangering other road users, surely?

So you like to provoke people into driving dangerously???

I'm no speed demon by any means, but people who sit in the outside lane doing 70mph are making the motorways even more dangerous and risky because of the long tailback of cars behind doing 80mph(+)....

These people need to realise how dangerous this practise is, and again it provokes drivers into doing things they wouldn't normally do (ie undertake).

the outside lane isn't the fast lane.... it's an overtaking lane, so if your not overtaking... kindly move your shed over to the left (inside) lane.

    and breathe....

    Nick

    While we're ranting
    • Middle lane drivers when there's no traffic anywhere else.

    • The idiot who, every morning, drives past my house with, what sounds like, an exhaustless Astra, fiver says you can watch your petrol needle drop as it pours out of your hot-water-cylinder-like tail pipe

    • The other idiot who, every morning, drives in the outside lane of the dual-carriageway for no reason at all. She pulls out of the same turning as me, onto the empty carriageway and proceeds to the outside lane without fail. When we reach a roundabout, she correctly uses the inside lane to go straight on and, you guessed it, pops right back out to the outside lane again. When I get behind her and need to pass, she pulls in, I pass and she pulls back out again.

    • I've mentioned this before in Carl's rant thread - The idiot in the X5 who can't "do" grassy banks

There are many many more and I'm by no means perfect, but come on!

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

    ***RANT UPDATE***

When I was talking about the limits etc I was talking about hte road home from work - this is a regular two way road. Not a M-way.

I do in fact use the M-way in the manner it is supposed to be used.

I don't claim to be the world's best driver but my road awareness (or road craft?) is far better than a hell of a lot of the knuckle heads out there.

    Could not agree more.

People should either hurry up or get out of the way.
