    Hi everyone,

I'm trying to locate the fuse for the boot cigarette lighter socket on my 1999 A6 Avant - It is not fuse 33 in the RHS of the dash - that only fuses the front socket.

    Any ideas please??

In their wisdom, Audi have fitted the fuse you're after in the '8 position relay carrier' which is located in the R/H side of the driver's footwell. You'll need to remove the 'Driver's storage compartment' (panel) below the steering wheel. There are 5 screws holding this in place. 2 of them are behind the panel immediately above the steering column, which just pulls away from the dashboard toward the steering wheel & 1 is accessed behind the fuse box cover on the R/H side of the dash. The other 3 are in more easily accessible positions. Drop down the panel, unplug the connector to the footwell light & unclip the diagnostics socket by squeezing together the 3 clips. The fuse is a 20A (yellow) & is clearly visible on the relay carrier.

    Hi Dave

Is it the same in my 52 plate A6 2.5 Tdi Avant ?

I have power to front socket and the one in the boot but not to the centre one in the console in the rear set - I wasn't aware it was even a separate fuse - assumed it was a wiring fault

    Tks
