Hi - I've got an armrest for my A6 (2000 SE) which I won on ebay. Does anyone know how I fit it? When I remove the blanking plate it looks as though I have to remove the ducting and housing for the rear air vents in order to get to the bolt - does that sound right??

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks.

yep thats right, Mine was fitted as standard but I have removed it to put a mobile and ipod into it. on my one the air duct narrows to accomodate the arm rest bracket, the bracket fits on to the stud via the nut at the base from the floor. from what i can work out from my manual it looks like the duct is standard on all A6 and not dependant on arm rest or not,

To fit it pull out the rear heater vents to the back seat, then pull out the black duct. the arm rest bolts on to the fixed bolt in the floor, then the duct and air vent should be able to be refitted (if it is standard and not specific to arm rest or not !!)

the thing i would have been unsure of is the blank which is removed to accomodate it, is it just as simple as removing a blank in the centre console?

Thanks Andy that's great, I'll give it a go tomorrow. The blanking plate came away quite easily, it looks as though the previous owner gave it a go as two of the little legs have snapped off.
