    Please help!
I just replaced my front brake pads and resurfaced the discs I marked the discs left right so i put them back to the same side.
Now when I brake i hear a very loud clicking/knocking noise from the front drivers side(left) wheel. Sounds like someone hitting the disc with a hammer. not like an ABS sound. No other noise when I am not touching the brake pedal. I need to leave on Friday for a long road trip. Please help me with ideas!
    Thanks!!

    BTW I have a 1999 Passat 1.9 TDI

Check the pads are not loose and rattling in the caliper.

Did you refit the retaining clip/spring? Are they definitely the correct pads? Sounds like the pads are jumping about.

Pads are rock solid the clip is in the correct position.
I just got another reply from a different source and they said I should have not resurfaced the rotors. They said this is a common mistake with these cars and this is the result. can be true??

Resurfacing shouldn't make any difference unless the rotors are too thin, but that won't show until the pads are well worn. Perhaps the rotors were not resurfaced properly. They do have to be very flat with zero run-out.
