    Hi,
I had a problem with the ABS module. The ABS & ESP light was on and when the engine was restarted, they went off.
When connected to diagnostics kit, there was no errors.
The ABS module & pump was replaced with a second hand one and the lights came on.
When connected to diagnostics kit, it showed 2 faults, steering angle sensor and coding error.
The ABS module & pump was replaced with the old one and the same 2 faults occured.
I have been advised to take it to VW to recode the module. Is this correct or can anyone out there help me with this frustrating issue?

If you can read the coding from the old unit, and recode the new unit with it,it could help. You need to preform a basic setting of the steering angle sensor
