    Hi All,

I wonder if anyone here can help. I'm trying to paint an RC model at the moment but I'm running in to a small problem. Using cans I can put the base paint on without a problem and I can put the colour on using cans, but I wanted to use my airbrush and a different colour.

When I try to paint using acrylics or water based paint what I end up with is a speckled pattern.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Many thanks,

I am no expert but I do a lot of model making and use an Iwata TR1 air brush. From what you say you have the paint too thick. What paint are you using, Tamiya acrylic?

Yes, tamiya paint. I've been mixing it 1 part paint to 3 parts thinner. What would you reccomend?

That’s a bit thin. Which air brush and what air pressure are you using?

The brush is a Revell Standard 39101 and I've got a Revell compressor 39136 which does up to 3 bar. I've tried various settings but just can't get this right for some reason.
