I just noticed that there was a 3-4 inch gap on one of my rear electric windows I tried to close it and nothing happens. I then pushed the switch down and the window goes down O.K then drops really quickly in the last 10 inches with a light thud.

I have managed to wedge the window up to secure it for now.(I think gap at the top will reappear when driving) But how can I get it fully funtioning again?

I have tested it one more time so when I remove the wedge the window can move down to the same 3-4 inch gap and wont move past this, then when I hold the switch to open the window I get the same result, it drops normally for a bit then the last sections just falls with a soft thud.

I am armed with my Haynes manual which tells me how to get at it and how to replace the various components but does anyone have any idea where I should start with this one, do I need to replace any parts? or has something come lose or needs adjustment?

I have heard they can be fidly to fix so dont want to be pulling things part unnecessarily.

    Any info/advice much appreciated.

    Thanks

Could be repairable, but it sounds like the regulator is knackered. Replacements are quite easy to get hold of and ent too bad if you know how, otherwise get it to a garage!
