    Hi, Can anyone help. The drivers door window has stopped working and fortunely it's in the close position, all the others seem fine. When I press the button to open the window all I seem to get is a clicking sound, which I'm assuming is a relay operating.
    Any ideas on what could be the problem before I get my screw drivers out ?

    sounds like the problem i had in my 1.8se, motor is ceased due to lack of use> it may sound really primitive, but all it needs is a good wallop! the motor can be found just above the door tray and slightly to the right, hit it with your fist while clicking the switch up and down rapidly. this SHOULD free up the motor and get the window moving. Now just keep it moving for a bit.
    This worked for me but if it is a switch however;
    try twisting and holding key in drivers lock to unlock position for 6-7 seconds, this should bring all your windows down without using manual switches. twist and hold in lock position for equal time to bring all windows back up.
    good luck
