A6 FE No sound from MMI

Hi,

I have an 05 Audi A6 with MMI , The sound crackled a few days ago and since then no sound. I can hear my phone (Via Blue Tooth) through speakers and blue tooth connection sound but CD / MP3 / Radio and Sat Navhave no sound. All seem to be working OK apart from the sound issue. I have tried a "reset" but this apears to do nothing .

Any ideas how to solve ??

sound package failure located nsr luggage compartment.Carry out a vcds as this sounds like electrical failure as opposed to a most bus failure

I bet you ae going to wish you neer replied , sorry -) , is that something a dealer must do or something I can do my self. I really have no idea what vag com is ?

Yes in this case the best bet is to visit the dealer

select Radio then press set up and return at the same time and select the hidden menu
please take photo of the secret menu screen so i can see your sw versions as you may require a update

no secret menu came up , but i do hav a "Car" button and when i pressed stup on that I got the followng :-

SW: 0100
HW: H50
Map : min040901-EN0403

I have now had Audi check the system and they say I need a new head unit £1300 ouch !!

I had an audio electricitian check it today and he says there is no power going to the amp , have checked the normal fuses which are all ok , he could not find the fuse for the bose system , anyoine know where it is ?

Please help I dont have £1300 to replace it :-(
As an update and for any that have this problem , it was not a faulty Mi or a faulty Bose it wa actually a leaking rear water (Windscreen) hose , this leaked into the passanger foot well and corroded a switch box there. Apparently a "Know" fault but not under warrenty
