Problems connecting Remote Central Locking ...2004 Polo E

Hi All,

Looking for some advice, we recently bought a 2004 53 reg Polo 1.2 E, 5 door, only thing thats missing is no remote central locking, anyhow today I fitted a Toad A101CL alarm complete with remote central locking, but for the life of me I can't seem to get the central locking connected through the alarm. I was'nt sure if the Polo central locking is positive or negative controlled so tried both, and managed to find the negative switch to lock the doors, but can't seem to locate the locking wire.

Has anyone fitted a central locking kit to a basic Polo E, and if so can you please provide some advice with connecting the central locking.

no mention of can-bus in the toad instructions, only asks if the central locking is positive / negative or pump driven.

I take it I need VW to enable something in order for me to connect the central locking to the alarm, why is nothing ever easy these days.

Can you advise what i need to do to connect the central locking

Any alarms i have fitted to modern vehicles have been connected to the can-bus although i have never fitted a101cl check this

thanks for the info, do i really need one of these interfaces to connect my central locking so it works ijn conjunction with my alarm ?.

I really did'nt think a 2004 basic Polo would be so advance, so no luck unless I get one of these devices ?

Is there any other way around it, as I feel like I've fitted this alarm for no reason as the wife just wants remote central locking

I think if you can find the signal from the drivers door lock to the convenience control unit,you will be able to fit the alarm,it is worth a try.
