Hi, I'm trying to find iout if any of you guys in here have tried fitting 18" alloys on a Passat, and, if so, were there any problems. I currently have the standard 16" fitted to my 2003 Variant estate and would like to upgrade to either 17's or 18's. Too ambitious?

I'd really appreciate some input and images of your own work would be a bonus.

    Many thanks

    Hi Jagr,

I'm lost for words really! And as for choice, you've really thrown a spanner in the works as I thought I had narrowed the style down to an Audi five spoke but, now, I'm totally taken with the alloys in the second image you kindly sent.

Did you always stick to the recommended offset or did you alter it slightly? The offset for mine is 37 and I've read that it is possible to venture away from this by 5-7. Is this true do you know?

Love the finish on the Passat by the way. Thanks again.

I have had allsorts of offset from ET35 - ET56.

The ones on mine currently are ET56 (I am using 15mm Hubcentric spacers)

I found with ET47 and 235/45/17 was to close at the front to the shock absorber. Then I changed the front tyres to 225/45/17 and that was fine.
