    Hi guys,

I have heard that adding v power diesel will produce extra boost,
Is this true and is it worth using it once in a while?

i've just started using v power diesel put in 1/2 a tank 2 weeks ago and another last night, i have not noticed any difference, except the price lol. the dis went nuts the 1st time as the range kept going up and down rapidly, but now after a few trips is fine, think my MAF meter is on its way out tho but dnt think thats got any thing to do with v power as i been told its a common fault. did try v power when i had a focus tdi and it dropped my mpg near enuff in half, but so far on the a4 its been fine.

O okay, thats abit shocking. So there is no point using v power.
I dont know if it was a hype that v power will give you better MPG and performance. But from what I heard, loads of people and on websites suggested it does actually work!!!

Or does it work with powerful diesel engines??

i knowz what you mean coz everyone i spoekn to apart from one person luvz it, i got a a4 tdi 130bhp and my bruva got a golf 130bhp tdi ( im guessing they are the same engines) and he loves the stuff he goes on an on about how good it is, vw specialists i spoke to in newport say its great stuff, but me personally didnt seem any different, maybe its coz my mileage to work is like 4 miles either way, and i go out now and again to notice it

Hi....used V Power, i also found that it made very little difference to my A4 B6 130tdi; however tried BP Ultimate diesel and found my engine to be more responsive under acceleration, no difference noticed to fuel econony, i try to fill up with a full tank of ultimate every other fill, hope this helps, no need to use it for the short daily commute tho....extra cost doesnt warrant too little a benefit bf use

Costs a bit too much for any potential gain. Would rather save up and get the car remapped! Now that will guarantee extra performance.

Unlike higher RON petrol grades, V-power diesel is just diesel, no more potent than the other stuff.

It is different in its purity - V-power is synthesised from natural gas, and so is as pure as it can be. Other diesels are fractionated from oil, then purified by various processes and the additives are then put in.

V-power will help clean up an engine and fuel system that's had years of crappy deposits building up. But purity has come on leaps and bounds since ultra low sulphur diesel came in.

If your car is less than 3 years old and you've not been filling it with poor quality fuel, then V-power will do nothing for you.

Shell's normal diesel is my one of choice, the TDI is a bit fussy, I always get the best response and economy out of Shell. My TDI's have always disliked Esso though.

Thanks for the info provided .
The only closest stations near my house is Shell and Tesco.
Will and never ever put tesco VALUE diesel....
Never tried BP although I have heard some good points about it.
But theres not one in site, where I live.

How much V power should I put in, in my car to clean the fuel system and engine?
