    hi

    my water pump blew on 2002 a4 1.9tdi, got the pump replaced but she wont start, diagnostices have indicated cam belt sensor is damaged but i dont think that would prevent it starting...any thoughts anyone? p.s timing belt is ok

    Hi,Yes it would! ECU doesn`t know what cylinder is firing.

    I would say it is more likely just incorrect valve timing, even one tooth out and they will not start and any more than one tooth and they hit. How was the cam timing set?

    Anthropogenic climate change, the biggest con inflicted on mankind since religion...

    thanks fellas, mechanic tried drying out cam shaft sensor, but it keeps cutting out, he has ordered new one, which is coming this morning, he says it will cure problem. says previous mechanic should have changed water pump when putting new timing belt on. belt was changed last at 99k miles, car now has 130k on it, will let you know how it goes

    new cam sensor fixed the problem, however there is a droning noise coming through when i get to about 50 mph, could this be a bearing perhaps????

    U R right, 320 quid for water pump and sensor and labour, could have been worse, just wonder what this other noise is
