    Hi,

    Please help!!!

Something seems to be drawing a current from the battery draing it after a couple of days. The alternator seems to charge up the battery so not to sure if it could be a battery fault or not. How can I test the battery?

Hope someone out there can assist as my wife is doing my head in

How old is the battery,?You can check the specific gravity,of the battery, this will give you an idea of the batterys condition.Or remove the plugs, and get someone to cranck the engine if you see any signs of the electrolyte, boiling,in any of the cells, the battery is defektive

    Thank for the reply

The battery is about 3 years old. Not to sure whether there are any plugs on the battery. It is a type of battery with a plastic window which states if it show green, the battery is in a good condition. I think the best way forward is probably to take the battery for a free check. I forgot to mention though, that all of this started after we had a cold snap with some snow.

I also have another fault. Maybe you can help.

The warning buzzer that sounds when ever you open the door with the head light on does not sound any more. Any ideas?

    thanks

The electrolyte is showing green. It says on the barry if it shows black, then the battery is defective. I will double check this again tonight as I am at work currently. With regards to the buzzer, the interior light does work when I open the door.

Surbiton is about 1/2 hour ourside London. The snow was back in Feb and eversince this problem has been occuring

    regards

Hi; regarding the light on warning noise, it might be that you accidently unplugged the relay looking thing, you can easily identify this in the fuse panel because it stands out completely from the rest also has a type of grill-like covering on the top part of it. It might be loose or you might even need to replace it if it's shorted-out. hope this helps..

Hi, check your rear windscreen, top right when looking from the back.
Best time is early morning after a heavy dew or if it is frosty. If there is a clear oval shape with no dew or frost, then it is a problem with your radio, I had mine replaced under waranty.

The best way to check the battery is to take it to Halfords, or your local car parts shop and ask them to test it for you. I know that Halfords do this for free, and there's no obligation to buy a new one if it is faulty.
