    Hello

I have a 1998 Sharan. It has a Sony MDX-C6500R installed it (since I bought it). The CD player works but there is no reception at all on the radio. The car has an aerial in the rear driver's side window.

    Here's the back:

I gather that such a car may need an antenna filter like this one http://www.nexxia.co.uk/product.asp?product_code=PC5-91

In fact being ignorant, I phoned a seller in London and on their advice bought this (an ISO to DIN connector):
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=170543246887

When it turned out not to have the right connection on the car side they supplied me with a DIN to ISO adapter to correct that:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=170550395074

So I fitted the blue wire to the empty point 5 on the furthest back block connector so that it connects to the blue wire going into the back of the radio. But I still have exactly the same situation - CD but no radio.

    How can I test
    (a) the aerial
    (b) the blue wire which I gather should now be connected to the power supply lead of the car's aerial booster?

    Kind regards

    Peter

Do you know where the booster is located for the aerial if so check there is power getting to it when the radio is turned on - the blue wire you have connected needs to have 12v on it when radio is on

If you just plug the aerial filter into the radio but dont plug the cars aerial lead in do you get any reception at all (youll prob only get radio 1 or 2 as they are the strongest signals)

Does the blue or blue and white lead on the radio have 12v on it
