    Hi All,

New here, and was looking for some advise.

I own a VW Touran s 1.9TDI 2004 manual, at work we have 2006 2L TDI se Auto.

    Have two questions.

1, The car is for the wife and with stop start driving what sort off miles will we get out off a tank 2L auto. We get about 440miles from the 1.9 manual.

2 , Took the 2L auto for a test drive and two faults, their is a low pitch noise when you accelerate (sounds abit like a police siren)is this normal, and the air bag warning light is on but thats because they put back the factory fitted stereo, can this be reset with dealers PC.

    Looking forward to any replies.

PS have to give work tomorrow an answer with regards to buying the Auto.

    Regards

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Don't have a clue about the noise you say the car has or the fuel consumption but you can always have it remapped for better economy, typical savings of 20% have been seen. Just a thought

Well we have agreed a price for the Touran 2l TDISE DSG Auto.

Better still the MOT is being done tomorrow morning at local VW, plus service (not due for another 9k). Happy days.

The noise will also get checked and hopefully be sorted.

All going well will now own two Tourans in the same colour blue.

    PS what does DSG mean?

    Regards

This is what DSG stands for: DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) is a manual gearbox with two automated clutches, allowing quick and efficient gearchanges. As you select one gear, the next is primed to cut in as soon as you nudge a gearlever or tap a paddle behind the steering wheel.
If you did not recieve my pm and are possibly interested in a remap for better fuel economy then call APTuning on 07930410102

Hi no pm received but that maybe because only got 4 posts i think.

How much to remap the 2l TDI, this will be the wifes car so would be up to her. Would it increase the MPG.

Is done with PC talking to ECU.

    Thanks for explaining DSG.

The deal I have on at present is for £225 or £240 if I come to you. The type of remap you are obviously looking for is an economy remap. With this type of remap we have seen fuel savings of around 20%. meanwhile you still get extra performance gains of 32bhp and 65Nm. And in addition to this you get the 3 years warranty. Or if you would like to go for the ST3 handset for £399. With this you get all of the above PLUS the choice of switching back to your standard map or switching to another map like race or track. Basically the ST3 give you 3 maps to choose from as an when you like. YOU DECIDE!
For any further info please call me on 07930410102 or email: info@aptuning.co.uk
Shouldnt be writing this, in this section. BIG SORRY Stuart.
