Hi, had my A4 for about 6 months now & getting to know the car a little better, but I have a few questions, I wonder if anybody can help with them.

    1. I have a 1,9TDI Quattro, which is permanent. I know it doesn't have a haldex controller like the VW's, TT & A3, but does it use some kind of oil for lubrication or something? If so, what are the intervals? (Looked in the service manual and can't find anything)

    2. This alternator pulley/tensioner thingy. I've read loads of posts about it, but can anyone tell me definitively what parts need changing as my car's recently started going "Wheeeeee" when I rev it to 2k & let them drop off. & it's the slack of the belt making the sound.

    3. I'm going to a breakers with a friend to look for parts for his MkIV Golf & thought I'd keep an eye out for aero wiper arms and maybe save a few ££ rather than buying from a dealer - Question is, would they fit though? I have a feeling that the material in the ringed base of the arms molds itself to the splines - can they be 're-molded' when removed from one and attached to another?

    4. Can the lower bumper valance be removed? I was thinking of replacing it with a V6 valance & getting some exhause tips.

I apologise if any of these questions make me sound like a bloody idiot, but we've all got to start somewhere!
    Thanks

RE: 4 - the valence, I could be mistaken but I think both front and back are two part so technically they can be separated. Whether or not it's a complete **** of a job though I can't comment

    Cheers,
    Dan.
