Thanks to a over zealous a***hole who fitted new tyres for me and tightened my security wheel bolt up to epic proportions --im now left with a problem . On trying to undo the bolt- in order to remove wheel to replace pads --- It was so so tight -- that despite all my efforts -even with a 'knock gun' --the splines on the bolt were stripped bare .
So --looks like its gonna be a drilling out job --unless someone else has any ideas ?.

When and if --i get this sorted --im gonna change all 4 of those silly security bolts for normal bolts --seeing as my alloys are nothing special .

had same thing.audi bolts not that steady when leaning on them. mine were not quite wrecked, local garage used air gun just got it out. good idea to change em did mine for more solid type so you can get wrench on properly, good luck.

Sounds as though you went to Kwik Fit or somewhere similar.

If you haven't already tried - 6ft scaffold pole slipped over the end of your favourite torque wrench.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

Too late for this im afraid -- bugger all to get hold of now . Like Sean said --when removing the bolts -- its crucial to keep the wrench straigh --otherwise it chews the splines up.
Quick fit ? nope -- but was a tyre place just as bad .

Looks like it's time to get that drill out then. There are methods for removing threaded screws some of which may work on bolts, but I'm not sure.

You could try hammering a smaller socket onto the bolt - it all depends how brave you're feeling.

Or do as Sean says and take a bigger run up

I'd be phoning the company who did it in the first place and telling them to get it sorted. They were the last to touch it after all...
