I have a 2.7 Le Mans Avant and milk has been spilt over the MMI control unit in the centre console.

This was some time ago and it has all dried and I've cleaned everything so it looks ok, it hasn't broken anything either - everything works fine.

The only thing is 2 or 3 of the lights on the control panel are out, I mean the lights that light up the text on the buttons i.e. tele, media, nav etc - I'm pretty sure it's where dried milk has prevented the electrical contact. They used to be intermittent but they haven't been on for weeks now.

Audi want over £500 plus labour for fitting a whole new control panel! I think all that needs doing is to take the panel off and scrape away the dried milk - this is what I had to do on the outside.

So - my question is, is it easy to get that control panel off and how do I do it?

    Cheers
    Kenny

Yes its quite easy to remove, but does take a while.

Have a good search of Ebay for a DVD based workshop manual, availbe for a tenner. this explains the procedure easier than I can!

I arent allowed to state its name as some of the mod's get a hard on about its name even being mentioned on here!
