    Re - Audi 80 tdi J reg

In relation to another post i made last week..when it wouldnt start..after further investigation and found out timing belt had slipped.. had repair work done 4 valves bent..but now there is Clouds of white smoke..when rev engine ..it starts 1st key..runs pretty sweet..narrowed it down to no 3 cylinder and when loosen injector pipe makes no difference to engine..

    1) Could it be a sticking injector staying open allowing overfueling.?

    2) What is the sensor connection on top with wire on it..could that have
    anything to do with it.

    3) Any other thing garage has missed out on..they seem to think its
faulty Diesel pump altho was perfect prior to belt slipping..

Please someone if you can assist be appreciated as at the end of my
tether now..wish had scrapped it now.!!

Any help asap would be great as can relay info onto garage 1st thing

not sure of engine make up,does it have manual tappet adjustment? may have one too tight,
also the exhaust will be full of crap from the original failure which will show as white/blue smoke as it burns off.

Hi there, if its white smoke its incomplete combustion/overfuelling,as its bent valves did anyone check that the piston comes to TDC?Depends on the severity of the impact, but it doesn`t take much in the way of a drop in compression to do this. Also, did they fit the correct Head Gasket? Too thick and again you`ll lose compression.I wouldn`t let them steer you to a pump fault until all this is confirmed,as you mentioned it ran ok prior.Cheers.

Hi ) (What is the sensor connection on top with wire on it..could that have
anything to do with it.) This is the injector with needle lift sender 3rd cyl,a fault with this would cause the engine to smoke.I would suggest a comp test on cyl 3 to make sure it is mechanicaly ok.
