Hi, just wondered if any one can help?

I have a W plate bora 1.9pd tdi (115 bhp) and i've got a creek on both front and back end but mainly when I brake and also when I go over speed bumps I get a knocking which you can really feel on your back side!

Can any one give me any tips on what I need doing and how much?

I have been told that I should try spraying WD40 on the rear/front bushers but i'm not sure if I should or not

    Many thanks!

WD40 will not cure your problem! The knock on the rear is probably worn rear axle mounts which feel as though someone has kicked you under the seat and the front is probably a failed anti roll bar which means a new bar and inner bushes.

Depends on the labour rate you are paying, its very difficult to quote accurate prices. Ring a few places for some Quotations.

I had exactly the same things go wrong with my old Bora TDi - luckily they were covered under warranty but the fix was exactly as Crasher describes above.

The rear axle bushes are a pain to remove without the right tool but getting the new design in is quite a lot easier, I think we charge about £250 all in including bleeding the brakes although not everyone opens the rear brake circuit but I do as I fin the hoses are put under worrying stress otherwise. If the rear axle bushes are removed without the correct tools, I have seen the rear axle bush area severely damaged and don’t let someone talk you into non standard bushes either. We have just done forum user TDIborasams rear bushes and the location area was a mess that we had to clean up and smooth off and we were removing the sold rear bushes that had been fitted. I sell them but I don’t like them. The front roll bar parts cost just under £100 and it takes under two hours to do the job so typically around £200 all in.

They take away the passive rear steer and are harsh.

As Crasher mentioned above, amongst a lot of other work, he has put standard bushes back onto the rear axle for me. The powerflex ones were truely dreadful....noisy, and VERY harsh.
