I have just self serviced my 2000 1.9tdi golf.
I need to reset the service clock so that in 10,000 miles it gives 'service now' warning.
I beleive to reset it you hold in the milage trip reset button turn ignition on and then turn the clock minute button.,
Does anyone know if this is correct as it does not display anything when i do this. If this does work then how long does it set it for until it warns for next service is it for 10,000 miles or less/more?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Cheers

I think this works - copied from a Lupo forum:-

Press and hold the buttton underneath the speedometer
Turn ignition on and keep this button pressed
"---" should then appear in the display above it
    Release the button
    Switch ignition off

Same procedure if you get INSP up on the display.

I've done this on my Golf and it worked but I can't remember if I had to use the clock button to select the reminder to reset. Once it's done it should be OK for 10000 miles/12 months as per your normal mileage/time service interval. As far as I know, if you're on long service interval it will reset to normal mileage/time interval.
