Hopefully my experience from the local dealer is an isolated one, but I'l tell you what, I know nothing about cars yet I think I know more than they do.

My local dealer is JCB Medway. When I bought my new Passat a few months ago, the pre sales service was so-so, but nothing great. Then I picked up the car (which was dirty) and have since taken it back twice to get the heated front seats sorted (passenger side doesn't work), rear demister sorted (hasn't worked since day 1), sort out a juddering at low speed in 2nd gear (now had the engine re-mapped) and finally got the missing part for the keyless entry system (after they were adamant that it didn't include keyless ignition - which it does).

Compare this to when I bought my old 3-series and you really notice the difference between a 'premium' brand and a bunch of pretenders.

Has anyone else had similar problems with either their new Passat or their local dealer?
