Hey folks, Just installed an aftermarket headunit to my 02 A3 TDi (with the reccomended autoleads harness adapter), but im getting nothing from the rear so, 2 questions.......

1, Do my rear speakers work off the subwoofer unit in the boot?

    and.....

Does the afore mentioned subwoofer unit hav sum kind of remote turn on from the front, if so, any idea which wire?

    Many thanks in advance.....

    Hi Kev,
I take it you have the upgraded sound system installed as standard.
If so make sure you are using autoleads harness that is designed for cars with the amp installed... They have phono adaptors also on the harness... I think this might be it

I had the same issue whe I replaced the head unit in my old A3. The autoleads adaptor didn't feed power to the rear amp/sub. It was 3 years ago and Ive changed cars since so can't remember the pin-out! I used the 'antenna power' (I think) which is a switched live to do this. Also, ground-loop isolate the feed for the rear set otherwise you get an annoying hiss from the rear with non-oem head units.

    Hope that helps.
