    Hi everyone,

I've been looking for the ISOFIX mounts (for baby/child seats) in my 02 A6 saloon, but cannot find them. After reading the manual, it seems that they might have been an option - the wording is a bit vague.

My questions, if anyone knows are this:

    - was it an option? Or am I being stupid and just need to look harder?
    - if it was an option, can I buy the kit and fit it myself, or do I need an Audi dealer to do it? I am very handy, so short of needing a spot welder, I'm pretty sure I can handle it...
    - if its a kit, can a kit be got out of a car at the wreckers?

Tanks, if anyone can shed light. I've looked on ebay, and the audi site, and this sight, and just can't seem to find anything to help....

    Ta.
    Mick

Hi Mick, I've recently had just the same experience. I was looking to buy an ISO fix base for my 04 A6. I called up Britax and was informed that it was compatible with my car.

Went to a local distributor in Birmingham (Baby Store Direct) and noticed on their 'demo' seat they had in store that it had two hooks where the back cushion and seat cushion meet. Looked in my car and it didn't have those hooks. Fortunately, Britax make the same base but without the ISO fix mechanism.

Essentially it's the exactly the same as an ISO fix base but doesn't have the hook/clamps on the back. Instead you secure it to the car seat using the seatbelt. All you do then is simply click the baby seat in and out just as you would on an ISO fix base.

Here's the link on the Britax website:
    http://www.britax.co.uk/car-seats/ba...e-belted-base/

I'm assuming you have bought Britax or looking to buy Britax?

Peter D, I didn't know they could be fitted DIY. I assumed it was a factory job for health and safety reasons etc.

Wow that's quite a good job. Where did you get the hooks from and how much did they set you back?

    From the original thread

"Spoke to a main dealer today who can get me the bracket (4B0 813 545 A) and bolts (8L0 837 453) tomorrow for £30 odd quid."
