    Don't know if any of you have seen these yet but apparently they are fairly close to being production ready.

    These pictures were taken at Michelin's test facility in South Carolina.

    Weird or what?

    Stingers don't work on these of course!!

    Yeah one of our engineers at work forwrded it to me.

    Can't see the current companies letting them go ahead, think of all the lost revenue!

    looks strange to see no tyre wall wonder how it performs at speed and in the wet suppose only time will tell if it takes off

    I like the safety aspect, but they do nothing for the looks of the car I wonder what the weight of them are compared to normal tyres?

    They probably would have a sidewall for real life use, I'm guessing the ones on the picture are either just to show how it works or for testing.

    They'd have to. I expect they'd have problems with them getting full of mud and grit otherwise. Or people putting things in them as a joke.

    Good point there's substantially more compound in them than a normal tyre, would do nothing for the unsprung weight. Also if it really caught on it could be the end of sexy low profile wheels and tyre combos. The rims on this test car can't be more than 14"s!
