    Heinkel 200 Anyone remember those?
I was able to drive it at 16 unaccompanied on a
    provisional M/C licence.
It was a great way to get about

A 1990 Citroen AX GT which I was given for free at the age of 16. This meant I had a year to get it roadworthy before learning. It was a great first car which was quick and handled like a go kart even if it felt a bit like driving a biscuit tin in terms of safety.

Sold it after 5 years for £400 in 2007 when I massively upgraded to the A3 which I still have...but maybe not for much longer.

First car before I passed my test was a 1992 J reg Vauxhall Astra (one of the first MK3's). Was a 1.4 LS in burgandy with lots of rust and a very leaky head gasket!

My second car, once I had passed my test, was a bubble shape Rover 214i 8v - superb little car too, had a lot of fun back then in that car
