Warm Start Problem

Begging for help on this one as my local main dealer have had my car on two occoasions and still cant fix it.

Cold start not a problem

Very intermittent - probably once every four days - warm start problem : Make a trip of any distance and then try and restart the car after being stood for a few minutes and it will not fire up. If I leave the engine to go cold again it will eventually start.

VW cant find any error codes so are at a complete loss as what to do

Temp sensor has recently been replaced so know its not that but would appreciate any help you guys could offer. Thanks

Would help if you let everyone know which engine it is, petrol or diesel, etc.

Yeah, sorry about that. Still boiling from my latest conversatiion with VW dealer.

Passat is 1.9 sport tdi

My GUESS would be either a faulty EGR valve (although i'm surprised no fault code is shown..)
OR the diesel injector pump head is worn.
