Am planning on buying a mk5 golf but am stuck between the choice of a 1.6 FSI and a 1.9TDI? Im taking it that the diesel will be more economical but the petrol will be faster? any help is appreciated..

I'd go for the tdi any day, as it has the perfect combination of power and economy. When I had my 1.6 fsi I found it quite economical but it just lacked power.

Go for the 1.9TDI 105 for sure... I got our lass one last year, you wont be disapointed...

Also.. in regards to power.. on paper theres not much in it.. however out on the road the TDI is the better drive...

I've recently brought a 1.9TDI MKV and I'm really pleased with it I have a Mini as my weekend car s wanted something fun but economical and the TDI fits the bill ok it doesn't drive like a classic mini but then again IMO no other car does but it's fun to drive comferatble and on a run I got close to 600 miles out of a tank
