It sounds like the auxiliary water pump is running continuously, draining the battery. I’ve seen some posts about it somewhere but can’t find them at the moment.

Thanks , I cant find it. Anyone know what would cause it, Would it be a short or
    power from another faulty part.

I'm not an epert, but I think you can connect an ammeter in series between your +ve battery teminal and +ve lead and measure the current drain. Have your engine switched off when you do this!!!! Then systematically unplug (and then put back in) each fuse from your fuse box until you find the offending circuit.

This should at least help narrow it down.

The auxiliary water pump is mounted in the pipework at the front of the engine but really only visible from underneath. I assume its connected to a thermostatic switch that is faulty. Disconnect the wiring to the pump to see if that stops the noise, then go from there.

I also have this problem,( 2.4 none turbo AAB ) I think it may be a faulty temperature sensor (yellow pug mounted on a plastic coolant housing above the Altenator) I havent prooven this yet but the inside pins are green and it looks a bit shot.

I will send a post to let you know how I get on.

just to confirm i have sorted the above problem by replacing the four pin coolant temperature sender/sensor located above the altenator
